Adli grew up in the Klein Karoo where she finished school with Art as a matric subject. She moved to the Boland where she studied, worked, got married, raised a family and worked, worked, worked. Eventually the frustrated artist surfaced again. Since 2000 she had brief periods of art classes with Andrew Owen, the late Susan du Preeze, Marion Langton, Peter Earl and Shelley Adams, working mainly in water colours, but also in acrylic, charcoal, collage and mixed media.
She has exhibited with the Vermont Art Circle, the Hermanus Art Society, the Art Book Club and has taken part in various other seasonal art exhibitions in Hermanus. Her portfolio includes portraits, birds and fish, flowers and semi-abstracts. She is also an Icon writer and has taker part in various Icon exhibitions in Hermanus.
Daria was born in Romania. In 1975 she moved to Germany Dusseldorf. She was always interested in the arts, especially painting, and started to work with different art at an early age. She attended different schools of art in Dusseldorf. In 2000, she went on holiday to South Africa, bought a house in Kleinmond and lives there for 6 months every year. She went to some well-known S.
Emigrated to South Africa from England in 1969. Worked in Durban and Rhodesia and arrived in Cape Town in 1972. Attended classes in still life painting and life drawing at the Cape Town Art Centre in Green Point from 1973-1978. And was awarded various prizes.
Enjoyed the swinging sixties travelling round Europe and married a gorgeous Australian man. Stayed in London for five years, had a baby boy and then headed back to Cape Town where I had another boy.

When Leonie and her husband retired in 1999, they moved to Vermont, Hermanus, and Leonie started painting seriously. She also got a contract with MAGICAL.
Born 1935, Cape Town. A painter of landscapes and still-life. Works in oils and acrylic. Attended art college in Windhoek, Namibia, also assisted by many wellknown artists. Participated in many group exhibitions, also solo and on commission. Shared a gallery in Windhoek which resulted that from my work was sent on request to Germany. My work of art is also to be found in homes across the country.
Studied Art at the Technical College, as well as with various Art Teachers over the years. Also attended, and participated, in numerous Art Workshops with well-known Artists. I have taken courses, and practiced the arts of Sculpture, Pottery, Bauernmallerei, Rosemaling, Decoupage, Fabric Painting, Calligraphy and Photography.
After a brief overview of the course, each student is granted an opportunity to what some appear to perceive as a verbal inquisition. Who are they, what do they do, what are they about, and what is it they are seeking out of their education? August 17, 2012. A sadder frown than the one above.
